Unlike tutoring agencies or other tutor matching websites, Tutors benefit from the free tools and resources available to them through the site — such as templates for lesson plans and progress reports, scheduling features, and PayPal for easy payment transfer. Students benefit from the volume of high quality tutors available through the website and the easy-to-use search options that allow them to connect quickly with a tutor that best matches their specific needs.

We require tutors to include certain information in their profiles including their name, subjects taught, geographic location, and hourly rate. We encourage you to include additional information about yourself such as your educational background, teaching style, and schedule — this extra information can help students who are searching on the website determine whether you are the best match for them. We recommend that you include any and all personal or professional information that will help you stand out from other competing tutors and attract the type of student with whom you would work best.
How do I get paid?

Tutorhand provides you with a shortened, easy-to-remember, "vanity" URL (e.g. www.tutorhand.com/JohnDoe) that you can use to effectively promote yourself. Additionally, Tutorhand will provide email templates and marketing strategies to help you go and market yourself to potential students. Tutorhand will soon be implementing features that will allow you to create fliers and business cards that you can use to guide potential clients to your profile page.
Will students be able to see my contact information?
Any visitor to the site will be able to view your full profile but will not have access to your contact information unless they are registered users of Tutorhand.com. Visitors who are not registered will only be able to contact you through an internal messaging system that will send a private email to you, without providing your information to the student.
Registered visitors will be able to view whatever contact information you choose to include in your profile. It is completely your choice to include your email, address, or phone number in your profile page. If you believe that displaying such contact information will help you advertise your services, then by all means include such information. Otherwise, students will be able to contact you through the anonymous internal messaging system.
Does it cost anything to search for tutors?
Searching for tutors is completely free — you don't have to pay a membership fee to conduct searches or to see more details about the tutors you're interested in.

Registered users are able to view tutors' direct contact information (if provided) and will include you into the tutorhand.com network. You will also be able to search through study materials that are posted by tutors in order to help their students learn and practice their material.
